Hello, my name is Dimitri van Wezel.
I'm an industry veteran with about 20 years of experience.
I have worked for twelve years as senior artist at Wooga GmbH, and was seven years a core-member of the team that launched June's Journey.
Currently I teach game art at Kunstschule Berlin (Berlin art school), but I am available for jobs in the industry.
I have a background in traditional arts, and have many years professional experience as a digital artist in a variety of companies and teams.
I've shipped many titles, big and small, on a variety of platforms.
I'm an expert with Photoshop, and have extensive experience with other Creative Suite apps. Currently I'm enjoying Procreate a lot as a cheap and versatile tool.
I also have experience as 3D-artist (3D Max, Maya, Modo and Blender).
I've done concept art, character art, environment art and UI and consider myself a well-rounded generalist with a keen eye for colour and style. I'm able to adapt my output to any preferred art-style, and love the look and feel of stylised casual games.
I'm a team player, and I always keep short lines between different departments to ensure a smooth pipeline. I'm a problem-solver, and love to think outside of the box.
I enjoy mentoring interns and junior team-members. I'm always approachable and open to suggestions.
I thrive in companies with a professional attitude, and value diversity and an international environment. I think an open mind is key to any successful product in today's overcrowded market.
I'd be more than happy to discuss possible future possibilities in person, or online.
At wooga I worked on four different titles. I started as Flash-artist for Diamond Dash, after that I worked as concept artist on Warlords, I moved on as concept artist to Age of Trade, and currently I work as 2D/3D concept artist on june's Journey, to be released in the last quarter of 2017
